What cookies are
Small files a site stores in your browser so it can remember something between requests. They are useful for things like keeping you logged in, and they are also the mechanism behind most cross-site advertising — which is why they need explaining.
What this site uses
Strictly necessary only. We set a small number of cookies required for the site to function:
| Purpose | Why it exists | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Security token on form submission | Prevents cross-site request forgery on the contact form | Session |
| Administrative session | Keeps an authorised editor signed in to the content admin | Session, or 30 days if "remember me" is chosen |
These do not track you across other websites and are not used for advertising. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent — which is why you are not being shown a banner.
What this site does not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No cross-site tracking
- No social media tracking pixels embedded in pages
- No fingerprinting
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics that measures page views and navigation in aggregate without building a profile of individual visitors. If we ever introduce analytics that requires consent, we will ask for it properly before setting anything, and this page will change first.
Fonts and assets
Typefaces are served from our own domain rather than a third-party font service, so loading a page does not send your IP address to another company. Every image and script on the site is served from our own infrastructure.
Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones above will stop the contact form and the admin area working, but the rest of the site will read normally.
