Mobile Apps

Mobile apps people keep on their home screen

Getting an app built is the easy half. Getting it approved, adopted and still working after the next OS release is where most projects quietly fail. We plan for all of it from the start, including the parts nobody enjoys: store review, permissions, offline behaviour and update paths.

The problem this solves

Apps commonly ship, get a launch spike, then decay — because onboarding was an afterthought, push notifications were never set up properly, and no one owns the OS-update treadmill. Two years later the app is broken on current devices and the original agency has moved on.

What you get

Platform strategy

An honest recommendation on native versus cross-platform based on your feature list, budget and how long you intend to maintain the app — not on what we prefer to write.

Offline-first behaviour

Local storage and sync so the app stays usable on poor connections. This is where cheap builds fail most visibly, particularly for field and retail staff.

Push notifications done properly

Segmented, permission-respectful notifications with deep links into the right screen — the single biggest lever on retention, and the easiest to get wrong.

App Store and Play Store submission

We handle listings, screenshots, privacy declarations, age ratings and review responses. Apple rejections are routine on first submission; we expect them and resolve them.

Analytics and crash reporting

Funnel tracking and crash reporting from day one, so you learn where users drop off instead of guessing from store reviews.

Post-release maintenance plan

A costed plan for OS updates, dependency patches and store policy changes. iOS and Android each ship a major version yearly; unmaintained apps break.

How we work

  1. Scope and platform decision

Feature list, target devices and a written fixed-price scope.

  2. Prototype the core journey

The one flow that defines the app, built early and tested on real devices before the rest is built around it.

  3. Build in two-week cycles

TestFlight and Play internal-testing builds you can install and use each cycle.

  4. Beta with real users

A closed beta group, with crash and funnel data reviewed before submission.

  5. Store submission

Listings, assets and privacy declarations prepared; review responses handled by us.

  6. Launch and monitor

Thirty days of included fixes, then an agreed maintenance plan.

What you should expect

  • Usable on poor or absent connectivity
  • Store submission cleared, including first-round rejections
  • Retention and funnel data available from launch day
  • A costed maintenance path so the app does not rot

Mobile App Development — Your Questions

Including the ones about cost, which most agencies leave off the page.

A focused single-platform app typically runs £15,000 to £30,000. Cross-platform covering both iOS and Android usually lands £22,000 to £45,000 depending on how much backend work is needed. Apps with payments, live data or offline sync sit at the upper end. You get a fixed price after scoping.

Cross-platform with Flutter or React Native suits most business apps and saves roughly 30–40% versus building twice. Native is worth it when you depend on heavy device features — advanced camera work, background location, ARKit, complex animation — or when absolute performance is the product. We will tell you which case you are in.

Twelve to twenty weeks for a first release, plus one to three weeks for store review. Apple review is typically 24–48 hours per submission but first submissions are frequently rejected on metadata or privacy details, so we build that round-trip into the timeline rather than promising past it.

Yes, and they should be registered to your company, not to us — that way you own the listings and can change agency without losing your app. Apple charges $99 per year and Google a one-off $25. We will walk you through setup and take whatever access we need as delegates.

We handle it. First-submission rejections are normal and usually concern privacy strings, account deletion requirements or unclear subscription terms. Resolving review issues is included in the project, not billed as extra.

A short call is usually enough to tell you whether this is the right service for your situation — including when it is not.
