Online stores built to be found and built to convert

An online store has two jobs: get found for the products people search for, and remove every reason to abandon the basket. Most stores lose money on both — buried behind slow category pages, missing product schema, and a checkout that asks for more than it needs.

The problem this solves

Retailers commonly discover their category pages are invisible in search while competitors with worse products rank above them. Usually the causes are structural: no product or offer schema, faceted navigation generating thousands of near-duplicate URLs, images shipped at full resolution, and a theme carrying scripts for features the store does not use.

What you get

Platform selection advice

An honest recommendation between Shopify, WooCommerce and a headless build, based on your catalogue size, margin and team — not on which platform pays commission.

Product and offer structured data

Product, Offer, AggregateRating and BreadcrumbList schema across the catalogue, which is what makes price, availability and review stars eligible in search results.

Faceted navigation handled properly

Filter and sort combinations controlled with canonical tags and robots rules so you do not burn crawl budget on thousands of duplicate URLs.

Checkout optimisation

Guest checkout, address autocomplete, wallet payments and honest delivery messaging — the specific frictions that show up in abandonment data.

Performance on real devices

Responsive image pipelines, lazy loading below the fold and script auditing, measured on mid-range Android over 4G rather than on a desktop connection.

Payments and compliance

Stripe, PayPal or Worldpay integration with Strong Customer Authentication, plus the UK consumer-rights and returns content the law requires.

How we work

  1. Catalogue and keyword audit

We map products to the terms people actually search, which usually reshapes the category structure before any design work starts.

  2. Platform decision

A written recommendation with the trade-offs stated plainly, including running costs at your expected volume.

  3. Design and build

Category, product and checkout templates built first, since that is where nearly all revenue and organic traffic lands.

  4. Data migration

Products, variants, customers, orders and reviews migrated with a redirect map for every changed URL.

  5. Pre-launch testing

Full purchase testing across devices and payment methods, including refunds and failed-payment paths.

  6. Post-launch optimisation

Four weeks of monitoring conversion and Core Web Vitals against the pre-launch baseline, with fixes included.

What you should expect

  • Product-level rich results eligible in Google Search
  • Category pages indexed without duplicate-URL bloat
  • Measurable reduction in basket abandonment
  • Core Web Vitals passing on mobile, where the traffic is
  • Clean migration with order and customer history intact

eCommerce Development — your questions

Including the ones about cost, which most agencies leave off the page.

Shopify suits most retailers under a few thousand SKUs: hosting, PCI compliance and checkout are handled, and the monthly fee is predictable. WooCommerce makes sense when you need unusual pricing logic, deep WordPress content integration, or want to avoid transaction fees at high volume — but you take on hosting, security and maintenance. Headless is worth it only when you have the traffic and team to justify the added complexity. We recommend based on your numbers.

A well-built Shopify store with a custom theme typically runs £6,000 to £15,000. WooCommerce builds are comparable, with more variance depending on plugin requirements. Headless commerce generally starts around £25,000. Migrations from an existing store are quoted separately based on catalogue size and data quality.

Yes, with a proper redirect map. Product and category URLs rarely map one-to-one between platforms, so we build the mapping before migration and test it on staging. We also preserve titles, descriptions and structured data. Expect short-term fluctuation while Google reprocesses the site; a well-executed migration recovers within weeks.

We write category and product copy optimised for search, and we can coordinate photography through partners. What we will not do is publish placeholder descriptions — thin, duplicated product copy actively suppresses category rankings, so it is worth doing properly.

Usually. We regularly integrate with accounting and inventory platforms including Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and warehouse systems via API. Where a system has no API, we can often work with scheduled file exchange instead. We confirm feasibility during scoping rather than after you have committed.
